With the Communication port fitted will my National Instruments LabView test system communicate and control the test chamber?
Yes the Binder test chambers will communicate with NI LabView via the Ethernet or RS422 communications port and can be controlled and set from LabView, and you can measure and read the conditions and integrate this with LabView. We can supply you with the protocols and instruction set required to operate the chamber via Labview including programming and measuring example programs.
How do I decide the temperature range of the chamber required?
To decide the temperature range of the chamber required is you take the temperature you wish to achieve and then to ensure that you achieve the required level you should add a tolerance of 10% outside the required temperatures and specify the chamber to achieve this. However due to the physical properties of the refrigerants used the chamber are supplied in standard performance ranges of 0°C, -10°C, -40°C or -70°C with upper temperature ranges of +70°C, +100°C or +180°C.
How do I decide what size of chamber to request or specify?
The rule of thumb for deciding the best size of chamber to specify is that the product under test should not exceed 40% of the chamber volume and will sit centrally in the chamber so that a good airflow is achieved around all side and above and below the product under test. This can be adjusted as if the product has a case that is well ventilated and may have a cooling fan circulating air through it, the volume can be increased to 50-55% of the chamber volume, however if the product is a solid piece with no ventilation in it or through it you may need to reduce the volume to 32-35% of the chamber.
What type of air circulation do the Chambers use?
The chambers are fitted with an air circulating fan and have ventilated side walls inside the chamber that provide a unique horizontal airflow across the working volume of the chamber ensuring that the entire work space is subjected to the same temperature and humidity conditions. This ensures that your product of material is subjected to a uniform set of conditions over the entire product, ensuring full compliance with any specifications and even conditions on the product.
What are the standard accessories supplied with the Binder Test Chambers?
The standard chambers are all fitted with the following items that are included in the cost:-
A multipane glass window in the door.
A Communications Port either RS422 or Ethernet depending on the chamber model.
A 50mm or 80mm porthole for the connection of external equipment, with the larger chambers having 2 off portholes.
All the chambers are supplied with 1 off shelves, whilst the heating ovens are supplied with 2 off shelves.
The smaller chambers and oven are fitted with feet for bench/trolley mounting whilst the larger chambers are fitted with castors for floor standing with brakes for preventing movement.
