Thermal Shock Chambers
Teslatest Systems are able to offer a complete range of Thermal Shock test chambers that meet the requirements of all the standards test specifications including MIL standards. The chambers are supplied in three sizes as standard and can be supplied with either single stage (-40°C) or cascade (-70°C) refrigeration systems. Please see the following Technical specification.
The thermal shock chambers are supplied with a fully programmable controller for complete cycle programming which is of Eurotherm manufacture. The chamber has the two compartments fitted vertically with the hot chamber at the top and cold chamber underneath. The UUT mounting basket is moved between the compartments by a Pneumatic cylinder operated from your factory compressed air line, it is fitted with seals to ensure minimal transfer of temperature between the compartments.

Chamber Description
- Chamber Construction:
- The chamber is manufactured using double walled insulated construction with argon arc welded 18 Swg. Stainless Steel SS304 interior. The chamberis of vertical floor mounting configuration with the cold compartment at the bottom and hot compartment at the top. A full front opening double walled insulated door, provided with silicon rubber gaskets with hinges and toggle type locking arrangement, will be fitted on each compartment. The control panel is attached to the right hand side of the main chamber. (A remote control panel can be provided if required).
- Air Circulation:
- Each chamber is fitted with a fan/blower for air circulation to maintain uniform Temperature conditions. Both of the chambers is provided with a conditioning space consisting of the heating/cooling systems. The conditioned air is then circulated inside the workspace to maintain the required conditions.
- Heating System:
- The chamber is fitted with low surface loading sealed iconel tube heaters conforming to IS 4159 to provide the chamber heating. The heaters are controlled by the micro-processor based temperature/humidity controller indicator controller/programmer through solid state relays with LED display to maintain uniform temperatures.
- Refrigeration System:
- A Two Stage cascade cooling refrigeration system working on Environmentally friendly refrigerants is fitted to allow for chamber cooling . The refrigeration system is fitted with an air cooled condenser designed for continuous and trouble free operation, with water cooled condenser as an option.
- The refrigeration system consists of refrigeration compressors, expansion valve, soleniod valves, oil seperator with automatic oil return, hot gas defrost system and safety features like HP/LP cut off switches, overload protection, back up fuse protection, MCBs etc.
- Control Instrumentation:
- The chamber will be fitted with a microprocessor Self tune PID type dual loop Temperature Controller/Programmer with a PT-100 sensor for measurement and control and indication of temperature. This can used to program different test cycles as required by the test standards, and can be used to program basket dwell times (up to 999hrs) and number of transfer cycles. The programmer/controller will be of either Eurotherm or Watlow manufcature.-= µP
- Basket Transfer Mechanism:
- A Stainless Steel basket of required size is fitted with product mounting trays. A Pneumatic cylinder with soleniod valves, filter, and regulator is fitted to tranfer the basket between the two temperature zones. A supply of compressed air of 5kg/cm² will have to be provided.
- Standard Accessories Fitted:
- Each compartment is fitted with a 25mm porthole with closing bung..
- Observation window of 200mm x 200mm on the front door.
- Safety Features Fitted:
- Back up Fuses protection for all mains and individual circuits.
- Over temperature safety cut off thermostat fitted with audiovisual alarm.
- Overload protector for compressor and motor.
- HP/LP cut off switch for compressor.
- MCBs for heaters and humidity generator
- Single Phase preventer is fitted to protect the test chamber from damage caused by incorrect phase rotation or loss of phases.
- Power Supply Requirements:
- 415V +/-5%, 3 Phase, neutral & Earth, 50Hz AC.
- Compressed Air supply of 5kg/cm².
