Teslatest Systems has specially selected the range of Thermal Platforms from ESS (Environmental Stress Systems inc.) as they are a Unique solution for the testing and Characterisation of all types of semiconductor, Micro-circuits and Microwave components. These Platforms offer the ideal solution for the testing of Electronic components that can be heated and cooled by direct conduction plus offer better flexibility for cabling, probing or tuning the device under test. The Platforms are supplied in two basic versions, either Cryogenic cooling or Mechanical refrigerated cooling with the platforms and optional accessories being the same for both options. All of the units are fitted with fully programmable Temperature Controllers to allow for the operation by manual setpoints or programs consisting of different temperature levels and temperature ramps.

CRYOGENIC Thermal Platforms
The cryogenic Thermal Platforms have cooling provided by LN2 or Liquid CO2 and offer a very rapid cooling rate of change. These platforms offer a very cost effective solution to your testing requirements provided that a suitable supply of Cryogenic liquid is available. They are available in platform sizes from 6.75"x6.75" to 24"x24" with many sizes in between and are supplied complete with a programmable controller for maximum flexibility and test programming. Mechanically Refrigerated Thermal Platforms
These platforms are cooled using a mechanical refrigerated system that offer a low running cost, the units are fitted with a quiet and efficient compressor based refrigeration system. They can be supplied in either single stage or cascade configuration for operation to -40C or -70C, and are completely self contained being fitted with an air cooled condenser that exhausts the heat generated into the room. The thermal Platform is attached to the base unit via an umbilical cord that allows the platform to be used on the bench top whilst the base unit can stand under the bench. The unit is supplied complete a programmable controller for the temperature set points along with the same platform layout as the cryogenic platforms.
The benefits of using a Mechanically Refrigerated Thermal Platform is that the running costs of the unit are approximately one tenth of that of the LN2 or CO2 required for the cryogenic platforms. Plus the unit is self contained without the requirement for connection to gas cylinders or pipe system plus the user does not have the neccesity of changing or moving large heavy gas cylinders.
