Salt Spray Test Chambers

At Teslatest systems we can supply our customers a full range of salt spray (Corrosion) test chambers, our salt spray chambers are constructed from non corrosive FRP sheet and PVC sheet. This ensures that the equipment is not attacked or rotted by the corrosive salt solution, we also use a glass nozzle for the salt spray to ensure durability and longevity of life.

The chamber have a completed sealed lid to prevent the escape of any fumes of fluid that might affect the surrounding area. The unit is mounted on castors for easy moving should you require this and are supplied complete ready for use only requiring the connection of all the supplies required.

Our Salt Spray chambers can be supplied with two versions of control system, either a single set point controller for long term stability tests or a Fully programmable controller for cyclic type testing. This can be further enhanced by connecting the controller to a remote PC and using the manufactures software package for chamber control and data logging, the controllers are manufactured either by Eurotherm or Watlow.

  • Temperature Range:

Chamber Description

  • Chamber Construction:
  • The chamber is manufactured out of anti-corrosive material with the interior of 6mm thick FRP sheet, the exterior is of 6mm PVC sheet all over. A top opening lid will be provided, manufactured from Stainless Steel SS316 and acrylic sheet of suitable thickness. The top lid will be tapered at 110° to prevent condensation dripping on nthe item under test. An inspection lamp will be provided located on the top lid, the lid will also be fitted with a water seal to prevent the leakage of salt fumes and water. The chamber will be floor mounted and fitted with castors.
  • Temperature Control:
  • A hot water generator will be provided with heater to heat the water to maintain the temperature in the chamber, the boiler will operate on a thermostat. 
  • Pre-Heater:
  • A pre-heater is fitted to pre-heat the air before it is admitted to the air saturation tower, it is fitted with a thermostat and is housed on the right hand side below the control panel.
  • Refrigeration System (Optional):
  • An optional refrigeration system is available to operate at lower temperatures than ambient temperature or use during high ambient temperatures to maintain the required conditions. This can also be used to reduce the humidity during drying cycles. A Single Stage cooling refrigeration system working on Environmentally friendly refrigerants R134A is fitted with a hermatically sealed compressor. The refrigeration system is fitted with an air cooled condenser designed for continuous and trouble free operation.
  • The refrigeration system consists of refrigeration compressors, expansion valve, soleniod valves, oil seperator with automatic oil return, hot gas defrost system and safety features like HP/LP cut off switches, overload protection, back up fuse protection, MCBs etc.
  • Control Instrumentation:
  • The chamber will be fitted with a microprocessor based Temperature Indicator Controller with PT-100 sensor for dry and wet bulb will be fitted for indication and control of temperature/humidity. For single set point control of the chamber conditions, this will be of either Eurotherm or Watlow manufacture -"A".
  • OR
  • The chamber will be fitted with a microprocessor Self tune PID type dual loop Temperature Controller/Programmer with a PT-100 sensor for dry bulb and wet bulb measurement for control and indication of temperature/humidity. This can used to program different test cycles as required by the test standards, and can be used to program cyclic type testing. The programmer/controller will be of either Eurotherm or Watlow manufcature.-= "B".
  • Append model with "A" or "B" as required e.g. SSC-120-A-R-A
  • Spray Nozzle:
  • The spray nozzle is made from glass for durability and longevity of life and is fitted to give uniform fog spray rate.
  • Air Filter Regulator:
  • The system is fitted with an Air Filter/Regulator to control the air pressure and ensure clean and oil free air to the spray nozzle, the air pressure filter/regulator is fitted with a micro filter and activated carbon filter.
  • Control Panel & Wiring:
  • A control panel will be provided which will house the temperature controller, mains on/off switch, switches, fuses, contactors, indicating lamps etc. All the wiring will be as per IS code with channel type wiring of suitable current rated copper wires with marking ferrules and crimped dowel terminals. 
  • Standard Accessories Fitted:
      • Salt Solution tank of 50 litres capacity and water storage tank of 50 litres will be provided.
      • The test chamber will be provided with PVC hanging rods for hanging components and with PVC racks with 15° and 30° angles for mounting test panels.
      • Interior Inspection Lamp located on top lid.
      • Electronic timer/totaliserwith digital display.
  • Air Compressor (Optional):
  • A 2Hp capacity air compressor can be supplied to supply compressed air to the spray nozzle, or alternately air from your factory compressed air line cvan also be connected.
  • PH Meter:
  • A PH meter can be supplied to indicate the PH of the salt solution and can be quoted seperately.
  • Safety Features Fitted:
      • Back up Fuses protection for all mains and individual circuits.
      • Over temperature safety cut off thermostat fitted with audiovisual alarm.
      • Overload protector for compressor and motor.
      • Safety thermostats are fitted to all heaters for safety against overheating.
      • MCBs for heaters and humidity generator
      • Single Phase preventer is fitted to protect the test chamber from damage caused by incorrect phase rotation or loss of phases.
      • Water level controller and safety system is fitted, along with an audiovisual alarm.
  • Power Supply Requirements:
  • 415V +/-5%, 3 Phase, neutral & Earth, 50Hz AC.
  • Compressed Air Supply.
  • De-mineralised Water Supply.
  • Water Drain. 
  • NOTES:
  • A cyclic  chamber with cooling facility and micro-processor based temperature humidity programmer can be supplied on request. There will be no control of humidity.
  • Also the dry corrosion cycle can be programmed in the cyclic corrosion chamber.
  • Facilities for SO2 and other gases can be provided on request.
